In response to US Security Council sanctions resolution against Iran, Hizbullah issued the following statement:

The UN Security Council resolution that comprises imposing new sanctions on Iran is a partial and unjust decision. It is a decision incompatible with the simplest basics of integrity and justice, and reflects the transcendence of States of influential policies over the Islamic world countries that -in their turn- reject submission and aspire to strengthen the capabilities of their states and peoples.

This decision will only exacerbate the spirit of rebellion among the oppressed people and accumulate their disappointment of wagering on the role of the Security Council in maintaining stability and resolving conflicts. Such a decision will also stimulate them to continue building their capabilities in order to safeguard their sovereignty and stability.

Unquestionably, the game of arrogant interests that led to the issuing of the new sanctions resolution against the Islamic Republic of Iran will only further complicate the situation in our region.

We warn against "Israel" benefiting from this resolution (resolution 1929) to pursue its aggression and terrorism as some decision makers -topped by the US administration- protect it and mantle its actions.

Hizbullah does not find any reasonable or legal justifications that vindicate imposing sanctions against Iran in first place.

Hizbullah condemns the Security Council's disregard to international stability and security threat that usurper "Israel" poses through its nuclear arsenal and its daily aggressions against the Palestinian people as well as the people of the Arab and Islamic region.

History will record the fair stance of Turkey and Brazil that rejected imposing new sanctions against Iran, at the time the countries that voted in favor of the sanctions will not find any justification for thier stance neither at present nor in the future.

As for Lebanon, who abstained from voting, the party hoped that the country expressed a stronger position at the UN Security Council on Resolution, by that expressing the Lebanese ability to unite particularly in rejecting tyranny that Lebanon lived for long.
