Commenting on the new Zionist scheme aimed at building 1,600 occupation-settlement units in East Al-Quds (Jerusalem), Hizbullah issued the following statement:

The Zionist entity's adoption of this new-old plan to build 1,600 occupation-settlement units in Ramat Shlomo settlement conglomeration in East Al-Quds, comes as a declaration by this usurper entity of its persistence to continue its scheme of Judaizing Al-Quds City and the elimination of its true identity to make it an integral part of the claimed Zionist capital.

This renewed Zionist step reveals the enemy entity's heedlessness towards all international and Arab stands that followed the disclosure of this project for the first time three months ago. Thus, this enemy flouts all protests and denunciations by refusing to give heed, so long as these stands lacked practical steps that deter the enemy and make it think twice before daring to resume its systematic Judaization operation of the sacred city.

This Zionist settlement step comes in the atmosphere of announcing the resumption of indirect negotiations with the enemy, and on the eve of U.S. envoy George Mitchell's return to the Middle East, further evidence of the enemy's contempt for these negotiations, and lack of interest in them.

On the other hand, this move also signals the U.S. administration's absolute protection of the enemy entity, making all past protestation steps that accompanied the initial announcement of this plan, mere charades designed to grant the enemy enough time to finalize logistical preparations to start implementation of the settlement plan.

Whilst Hizbullah condemns this Zionist action aimed at completing the Judaization encirclement of Al-Quds City, it stresses that achieving a unified internal Palestinian front round the occupation- resistance project is the first step in countering this new Zionist aggression, to also reject any negotiations with the enemy, whether direct or indirect, and to mobilize all Palestinian and Arab resources to protect Al-Quds.

Hizbullah calls the Arab and Islamic peoples to shoulder their responsibilities in pushing their governments to withdraw from this state of frailty and contrition before the usurper enemy, and to take action to prevent Al-Quds from falling away like many of the rights and sacred sites.
