Lebanon Wild with Pride, Ahmadinejad Awarded Honorary Doctorate

Like when a special friend comes and the host doesn't want him to leave, he would try to present as much gestures possible in order to make the friend's visit worth remembering.

More than 24 hours have passed to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's arrival in Lebanon, and since then, many official and popular sides in Lebanon have been presenting as much gestures possible to carve this visit in the memory of Ahamdinejad.

On the second day of his visit, it was planned that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is to head towards the Lebanese University in order to deliver a seminar for Lebanese University Students and Professors, and in return, be awarded with an honorary Doctorate in Political Sciences.

At 8:00 am students and professors rushed to get the front seats, and journalists followed with cameras to cover a most exceptional event in Lebanon.

The event was the students' main concern as it was expected that Ahmadinejad's seminar would be mainly focusing on the technological and educational development in Lebanon.

Fatima Al Hei, a Lebanese Engineer student, expressed her relief that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is available with all his initiatives to develop her country, especially on the technological level, which would help providing a better future for her career.

On the other hand, students are affected by the political situation in Lebanon, where Fatima also referred that she is aware that Iran has been for some time playing an important role in fighting the Zionist "Israeli" aggressions against Lebanon, especially against the resistance.

Amina Al Kara, Editor in Chief of the Al Hiwar magazine issued for the National Dialogue Party, reflected her relief that this visit came at a perfect timing, where there are incitements planned in Lebanon, especially between the Sunnis and the Shiites.

Al Kara believed that this visit played a role in calming down the tensed situation in the country, giving hope for the people regarding Ahmadinejad's firm stance in support of the resistance.

"Ahamdinejad's visit to Lebanon reminded us of Jamal Abdel Nasser's days, the days of unity, days of nobility in defending the Arab identity of Lebanon. Thank God that the Islamic world, with the support of Turkey and in presence of a person like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is protected and we are considered to be on the path of the resistance", Amina Al Kara said.

Mona Sukkariyeh, Lebanese reporter, considered on her part that Ahmadinejad's visit to Lebanon is considered to be historic, where he plays an important role in developing Lebanon, and a deterioration of the US new Middle East scheme.

"Ahmadinejad announced the birth of a new east, but this one holds its civilization, cultural, development, and political values, in addition to his amazing stances besides the Palestinian people and his support to this issue", Sukkariyeh said.

Ahmad Malli, Professor in International Political in the Lebanese University, considered Ahamadinejad's visit to Lebanon historic, adding that the support which Iran provided Lebanon, precisely concerning the new technological tool, is outstanding. Malli further hoped for more future developments and joint achievements.

People came in big numbers, and seats were almost filled with an audience that was looking forward to see what the Iranian President had to say.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in the conference hall, and with amazing cheers and chants yelling "Khosh Omadid", people gathered around him with pleasure that the modest president is present among them in the most humble halls in Lebanon.

After Ahmadinejad was seated to his assigned place, the President of the Lebanese University Professor Zuhair Shokor delivered a speech in which he welcomed President Ahmadinejad's visit to the University.

In his speech, Shokor thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran, precisely the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for all what his country has presented to Lebanon, in reference to the reconstruction support, development, and recent agreements and memorandums between both governments.

The President of the Lebanese University hoped that relations between Lebanese and Iranian Universities would develop and be enhanced, aiming at enriching the Lebanese technological position in the world.

The time came for the Iranian President to deliver his speech, in which he expressed his happiness to be among his Lebanese brothers and sisters and fellow professors.

According to Lebanese National News Agency, Ahmadinejad addressed the students saying, "Education is a light bequeathed by God on people to open their way before a good life filled with consensus and harmony; it is the road to achieve aspired for human perfection".

Ahmadinejad added that real education is built on power, justice, truth, and love, considering it impossible for a person to be educated if not loving for humanity.

The Iranian president believed that Economy has to be put in the service of humans, justice, and love, through which he criticized the capitalist policies in the US.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad clearly stressed on the issue of nuclear power, referring to its many uses in many fields, whether health, industry, agriculture, power production, and many other fields that could be of great interest for the Lebanese government.

In this context, in reference to the West, Ahmadinejad stated, "They made a radical change to the concept of nuclear power with the invention of nuclear bombs, thus halted the spread of real and realistic education of nuclear power".

On another level, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stressed on the importance of social justice, adding that the west has planted strife in different societies to become masters controlling the world.

After his historic affecting speech, Ahamdinejad was granted an honorary doctorate in political sciences, as a gesture to most of what he has done.

People went wild with pride to the fact that their Iranian "older brother" has gained a Lebanese doctorate.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, The Iranian President, is a humble person who surely knows how to plan his way in, through a very affective and brotherly way, in order to plant not only the love of education in the hearts of the student, but also the love of humanity.
