On the 20th of the Hijri month of Safar, the household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), all women and kids in a caravan of sorrows that was held captive by Yazid Bin Moawiya (the corrupt Caliphate at the time) had arrived to Baalbeck. The caravan, strictly surrounded by soldiers had started their captivity journey from Karbala on the 10th of Muharram, passed through Damascus and then arrived to Baalbeck, where the Yazid army decided to take rest, particularly in the Ras El Ein field.
The people of the region, when came to know these captives are the household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), they protested and felt remorse for what they have done, even though Yazid had spread rumors these captives were corrupts and outlaws.
