One additional vote by the "Israeli" Likud delegate in International Young Democrat Union (IYDU) was enough for the Lebanese Forces Students Association (LFSA) to become an IYDU higher council member, among more than 100 member parties.
According to the Lebanese Forces' (LF) official website, the LFSA is openly proud of being the only Middle Eastern member of the IYDU, expressing that it has added a new accomplishment to its list, which gives the Lebanese youth a chance to discuss issues that concerns them on the international level.
The LF, which published on its website a photograph of its IYDU delegates with the "Israeli" representative, intentionally omitted mentioning "Israel" in the context of listing the union's member states.
The LF also pointed out in its website, that its efforts paid off after three years of communicating with the union, and is now preparing an agenda that revolves around the merging which bonds the LFSA with many European and American parties.
What imposes more question marks on the nature of the relation between the LF and the IYDU, and therefore the Zionist entity's relation with the last two, lies in the LFSA hosting an IYDU delegation, where the latter also visited the March 14 alliance General Secretariat and met with its coordinator Fares Soueid.
Rashad Salameh: LF Membership in IYDU Represents Threat to Lebanese Security
Former Deputy Head of the Phalange Party, and National Christian Gathering Member, Lawyer Rashad Salameh, clarified in an interview with Al Intiqad online newspaper that the LFSA's joining to the IYDU does not come in the framework of the international official cases, where the LF does not represent the Lebanese state, and the IYDU is not an official international organization.
Furthermore, Salameh affirmed that the LF shouldn't have participated in the union for the acknowledgment that "Israel" is represented there, stressing that the latter is the usurping entity which assaulted, and still is assaulting Lebanon.
Rashad also added that the LF should have been more careful in this regard, especially that the party's history, going back to the Lebanese civil war, witnesses its relation with the Zionist entity and both sides' cooperative conspiracy against Lebanon.
Regarding the LF hosting of an IYDU delegation, and the visit paid to the March 14 alliance General Secretariat, Salameh confirmed that this act requires a Lebanese Public Prosecution intervention, where it should start an initiative to investigate the issue because it represents a threat to the internal and foreign security.
Former Deputy Head of Phalange Party wondered how the nature of relation could be between the IYDU delegation that visited Lebanon, and the Zionist entity, which is represented in the union's higher council.
On this level, Salameh affirmed that the LF's participation in the IYDU events and conferences is said to be in the restricted context, clarifying that in such situations, there should be an implementation of the Penal Code in what's related to prosecution and accountability.
He added that being a member of the IYDU council, LF has violated a Lebanese constitutional principle regarding "enmity with "Israel" since 1949".
Salameh noted that in this context, it is the government's duty to monitor the IYDU's movement in Lebanon, taking into consideration that "Israel" plays an important role in it, adding that its envoys should be pursued, and avoided from being dealt with.
"Yet the State [Lebanon] is absent from similar situation that may be very confusing for Lebanon, on the levels of its national security and the safety of its institutions", Rashad Salameh stated.
Salameh referred that the legal standard, when dealing with treason agents, is the amount of damages caused by those on both the international and foreign security levels, and having the LF attain membership in the IYDU comes in the context of the aforementioned damages.
Salameh further said, "That is what required the state to monitor the membership of any political individual or party in the IYDU".
Concerning why the LF did not mention the "Israeli" IYDU membership, Salameh stated that this could be because of the LF's previous acknowledgment that the step it took is harmful and shameful on the national and ethical levels.
MP Nkoula: "Israeli" Boycott Office Should Investigate Facts behind LF's Membership in IYDU
On his part, Change and Reform Bloc MP Nabil Nkoula considered that it's the responsibility of the Lebanese government, and through Lebanon's "Israeli" Boycott Office, to investigate the issue of the LF's IYDU membership, so that suitable legal measures would be adopted.
In this context, Nkoula stated that if some Lebanese foreigners are banned from coming back to Lebanon because they shook hands with "Israelis", then stricter measures should be adopted against a Lebanese political team, which has joined a union that has clear relations with the Zionist entity.

In an interview with Al Intiqad online newspaper, MP Nabil Nkoula wondered, "Where is the Lebanese Judiciary's and Justice Ministry's role in this regard? And Where is the General Prosecutor Saeed Mirza's role to do what's required?"
Nkoula further wondered about the Lebanese government's role, where it did not adopt any measures during a previous incident when an "Israeli" airplane landed in Beirut International Airport.
Change and Reform Bloc MP believed that had the LF mentioned "Israel's" IYDU on its official website, then this would lead to its conviction, clarifying that it why the political party did not bring up that important detail.
Nabil Nkoula reaffirmed the importance of Public Prosecution interference in this context, "so that every person would pay the price of what he has committed."
A list of the full members of the International Young Democrat Union (IYDU) could be viewed here, affirming the membership of "Israel"- Young Likud, and of Lebanon - Lebanese Forces Students Association (LFSA).
