It was a long day spent by the wounded and their children who were victims of the cluster bombs planted by "Israel" in the lands of South Lebanon. Since the early morning, they headed towards Imam Khomeini Scouts complex in the south, where they met for the sports event.
The audience crowd, constituted of the wounded, humanitarian and health organizations' representatives, in addition to heads of municipalities, were waiting for the football game held between the sons of the wounded from Beirut, and those wounded from the South.
A victim of cluster bombs, with an amputated foot, Hussein Zreik was the first to kick the ball and launch the game.

The crowd in the football stadium went wild, and the wounded among the audience cheered for their children or their teams.
Moustafa Abdul Karim Haraka, who suffers from an amputated foot and a hearing disability, was sitting on his chair among the crowd and was cheering for his son participating in the game.
In an interview with Al Intiqad online newspaper, Moustafa said, "I used to love football before I was wounded. Today my son plays this game; and when I see him play, I feel like I am playing too and I wish him success and tell him: today you are here to support the wounded, and I hope you would support the resistance in the future."
Moustafa added, "As for me, I practice ping pong, and my injury will not prevent me from practicing this sport".
The football game was over with an even result for both teams, after which the audience handicapped, and others wounded due to cluster bombs and land mines, headed towards the ping pong hall for another game.
Khodor Hamoush, a handicapped ping pong player told Al Intiqad that his participation in the sports games held between the wounded is a positive step and has many perspectives, first of which is expressing solidarity with the cluster bomb wounded victims.
"As for us the wounded, we consider it a motivation for us, and that our life is ongoing and isn't yet over, whether on the technical, athletic, or cultural levels", Hamoush stated.
Furthermore, Hamoush confirmed that his disability will not stop him from practicing sports saying, "The will of Man is more powerful than anything, for if the person wanted something, then Godwilling it will happen". He further referred to that the wounded exercise their sports with the assistance of specialized trainers assigned by Al Jarha (the wounded) organization.

On his part, Khaled Yamout, Norwegian People Aid Association representative referred to the importance of this event on the level of joining together all people with disabilities, wounded, and the unwounded, clarifying that many people do not know the suffering of the cluster bomb victims. "This merging between the wounded in their different cases benefits the society in general", Yamout stated.
He added, "Our work with the wounded has been for almost 10 year now, and that would be through social and economic events that we organize. We hope through these events the victim would overcome what he's suffering from, for we urge him to retake his place in the society and continue his life and work normally".
As for head of the Media and Relations department in Al Jarha Organization, Imad Khoshman, he said, "On the international day for raising awareness on mines and cluster bombs, Al Jajra Organization and the civil defense department of the Islamic health society, in cooperation with the Norwegian People Aid Association, decided to organize this sports event with the cluster bomb victims".
Khoshman affirmed, "Through this event, we wanted to deliver a group of meaningful messages; the first one addressed to the Zionist enemy, affirming that despite all massacred and grudge practiced on our people in Lebanon, this will is still existent even in the victims of the "Israeli" massacres and aggressions".
"As for the second message, it is addressed to all the Lebanese, it stresses on the importance of noticing that there is a problem faced by the people of the south; which is the cluster bombs and mines deployed by the "Israeli" enemy in the southern villages and between the houses, leading to many victims", Khoshman further stated.
Moreover, head of the Media and Relations department in Al Jarha Organization noted that the wounded need more attention in their cause, and everything should be sought to present what is possible of care and services.
He added that many laws related to the disabled individuals should be enacted, especially law 220/2000, further urging the Lebanese government to set strategies and plans to serve this cause.
Khoshman displayed the games' schedule and said, "Today we are holding a group of activities and events, including a football game between the sons of the wounded, in the participation of cluster bomb victims. We wanted from these children to participate in this event to express solidarity with their parents, and prove for them that they are ready to stand by them".
At the end of the games, Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc MP Ali Fayyad and the organizations' representatives took part in distributing medals and trophies for the participants.
