Al Hoss to Al Intiqad: To Face Any Attempts to Disrupt Relations with Syria

The former Prime Minister Salim Hoss greatly condemned the talks on the involvement of some Lebanese in the events that took place recently in Syria.

Stressing that Lebanon has no interest in muddying the relationship with Syria on any level, he described Syria as "a brother and dear country, " Al Hoss stressed in an interview with Al Intiqad website, adding that "Lebanon's best interest is to have best relations with Syria at all times." He also pointed out that "any attempt to disrupt this relationship must be deplored and faced by all of us."

Moreover, Al Hoss was pleased to cancel the meeting which was scheduled on Tuesday in "Bristol" Hotel against the Syrian regime, describing such meeting as "very painful". He added "We are pleased that this meeting didn't take place, because if it was to happen it would have endless repercussions among the Lebanese themselves."

The former Prime Minister also regretted that "this phenomenon continues to rise in Lebanon between now and then," explaining that "among the Lebanese, there are people who listen to the voice of non- conscience, and non- national words". He further pointed out that at the same time these are "a few people who do not count." Al Hoss concluded that "we must resist this cultural phenomenon through media and communication among the Lebanese."



On the governmental issue, Al Hoss accused both the President as well as the PM- designate for the continuation of the current crisis, "they are responsible of what is happening," stressing that "no matter how do we look at the subject, the formation of the government remains in the hands of the PM- designate. Why doesn't he settle this matter, why is everything left opened?" he ended wondering.
