Al-Intiqad Exclusive, by Latifa Al-Husseini

It's not only political and diplomatic work that run the American Embassy of Beirut, but also Awkar Headquarters has turned into an espionage den, as Hizbullah Secretary General, His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah exposed months ago. This den has become a center for assigning suspected missions in different fields and on various levels in Lebanon, whereby funding plays a major part in that.

This is exposed by information that "Al-Intiqad Website" has received regarding that "an important parliamentary party, in addition to other references, has been informed of detailed reports on a plan made by the Central Investigation Agency (CIA), particularly by its systems in Lebanon, so as to create a wide background cooperating with the United States.

Specifically, the background is meant to be created in environments counter to the American policies, and more precisely, on the Islamic-Shiite level, whereby the choice of establishing the greatest possible number of youths associations has been made; such associations are active in any probable field so that they attract youths and depart them from the political life, mainly the Muslim Shiite youths. The associations seek to prevent these youths from joining parties fundamentally established to resist the "Israeli" enemy."

In accordance with the information of "Al-Intiqad" Website, the execution of this plan was initiated after the July Aggression in 2006. It was originally a five-year plan, but it was then extended until 2013. As for the expenditures on it, they'd reached $ 67 million until January 1, 2010.

The plan actually requires finding a group of youths - no matter how few they are - or encouraging them to form associations, whereby they are later directed to do different activities as all beautiful, stimulating, and attractive titles are used, e.g.: "Education for Peace", "Women and Their Rights", "Sectarianism Eradication", and "Arts". The title mentioned last actually refers to one of the most concentrated activities that strongly allure youths to exuberant fun, derogatory behavior, and impudent talk, which are means that create purposes adverse to the struggle and sacrifice of youths.

Recently, the plan has concentrated on the youths' movement adopting the slogan of "Political Sectarianism Eradication", whereby some of the persons in charge of the movement have become enlisted on the list of the targeted ones.
As for the $ 67 millions, they remind us of what former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffery Feltman acknowledged as he made his testimony to the Congress Committee on Foreign Affairs, whereby he said that the American Administration specialized $ 500 million to distort the Resistance's image, whether in the Arab countries or on the international level.

Well, the activity of the Embassy in Awkar does not end here, for the sum which the Congress devotes to the U.S. Foreign Department of State, entitled "Supporting Civil Community and Training for Democracy in Lebanon", is estimated to be $ 75 million, which fund "Reneh Moawad Foundation (RMF)", "the Phalanges' Youths", "March-14 Alliance General Secretariat", "Fares Khashan's" "Youkal.net Website", ten other websites and local magazines in southern and northern Lebanon, in addition to some local television stations.
In accordance with "Al-Intiqad's" data, the American Ambassador to Bahrain, "Adam Ereli", supervises this program, arriving in Dubai two days a week for this reason. He was in previously charge of "the Public Affairs Program" of the U.S. Department of State.

Among the American program's priorities is encouraging theatrical, songs, and music bands to do suspected tasks of normalization so as to support "multilateralism", "freedoms", and "fighting the culture of killing and terrorism", as Washington D.C. puts it.

The system of associations in Lebanon, in addition to the Ministry of the Interior and Municipalities, is responsible for monitoring the sources of aids, the accompanying conditions, and the degree to which they affect the rules of the Lebanese sovereignty. The system and the Municipality must, thus, clarify the direction of these funds.

As for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), which is relative to the Embassy of Awkar, it offers contributions equal to $ 40 million, targeting youths and seeking what it calls "encouraging prudent governance, environment protection, and reconstructing Lebanon"; yet, the contributions are specialized for municipalities chosen in coordination with March-14 Alliance so as to create a socio-economic environment adverse to the culture of the Resistance.
Likewise, "Search for Common Ground (SFCG)", which is an American institution headquartered in New York, is active in Lebanon and includes activists from several foreign nationalities. Also, it concentrates on the issue of "resolving conflicts and spreading the culture of peace among people" in coordination with various local parties, and it is cautious in regard to avoiding political quarrels so that it facilitates the conduct of its activities on the Lebanese territories.
