On Its Int’l Day: Al-Quds Cries Out its Nation… Its People Renew Oath to Defend It

There is no doubt that the holy city is now mired in Judaization plots on one hand, and sad over its people's lives full of chagrin and worry on another hand due to the arbitrary practices exercised against them by the "Israeli" occupation authorities.
However, this tragic situation seems to be closer to change because of the Arab popular revolutions witnessed in the region in an attempt to correct the path, and become emancipated from the yoke of falling into the arms of the arrogant West, led by the US.
This practically means mobilizing the endeavors of the vulnerable people and supporting them with what is compatible with the enduring call to make the last Friday of the holy most of Ramadan, an International Day for al-Quds (Jerusalem).
In this international day, Al Intiqad online newspapers interviewed some Palestinians who are aware of the situation in the holy city, and highlighted some of their messages to the billion-manned nation.
Ahmad Attoun, Hamas-affiliated Change and Reform Bloc Member, stated that "al-Quds (Jerusalem), through its exposure to systematic attacks, has become in real danger; especially in light of the rising occupation enemy attempts to empty the city of its symbols, with reference to deporting National and Islamic leaders, including MPs from the Palestinian Legislative Council".
On the Lookout...
Furthermore, Attoun added that he and his fellow MPs protesting at the Headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood for more than a year now, are paying the price of protecting the most sacred religious sites among the nation.
He stated, "They ["Israelis"] are aware of what we are doing, and in return we believe that it is possible to rebuild all the properties they are demolishing, but it is not possible to find those who would sacrifice their souls in order to defend the city's holy soil irrigated with martyrs blood".
The al-Quds (Jerusalem) MP stressed that al-Quds (Jerusalem) is not exclusive to the Palestinians, even if they are the spearhead in protecting and defending it, but it [al-Quds] is part of the Islamic Nation's doctrine.
On his part, Khaled al-Amouri, the responsible for the home demolition file in the Orient House institution, which has been subject to forced closure for years by the occupation authorities, believed that the danger of this stage lies in the enemy's exploitation of all materialistic and moral means to control the city.
He added that at the same time, many formal systems in the Arab and Islamic world are becoming lax regarding their responsibilities towards the holy city and its people.
Khaled al-Amouri stated, "Every moment passes shows how desperate the occupier is to control the city, through exploiting drastic measures imposed on the people of al-Quds (Jerusalem); starting with imposing insane taxes, restricting their movement, and fighting against them for a living". Al-Amouri wondered, "How long would the people of al-Quds (Jerusalem) be able to survive in the face of this flood?!"
Do Not Leave It Alone...
On another hand, Archbishop of Sebastia of the Roman Orthodox, Bishop Atallah Hanna, confirmed the stance of Muslims and Christians alike to al-Quds (Jerusalem), and to resisting the occupation and its policies designated to control the city and humiliate its people.
Bishop Hanna called upon the Arab and Islamic Nations and the Christians around the globe, affirming the importance of paying attention to the wounds of the holy city, in light of the intensive attack against it, whether by the occupation authorizes of their extremist settlers.
Regarding his message on the International al-Quds (Jerusalem) Day, Bishop Atallah Hanna noted, "We remind the people of their religious, national, and moral duty, and we tell them that al-Quds (Jerusalem) needs you and everything you can offer it and its besieged tortured people".
"Do not leave it alone struggling its victimizers and murderers, but stand by its side", Bishop Hanna emphasized.
The insistence of al-Quds' (Jerusalem) people to stand against the occupying entity and its schemes, at the time when the people of the free nations are supporting it, would accelerate the collapse of the "Israeli" myths of building the alleged temple over the ruins of the holy al-Aqsa Mosque.
