Local Editor
Commeting on the terrorist crimes that targeted Iraqi citizens in Holy Karbala, Hizbullah issued the following statement:
The terrorist and criminal hand continues to target the Iraqi peaceful people, kill women and children, and sabotage properties in different regions particularly in the Holy regions on top of which is Karbala.
These consecutive crimes raise question marks on who benefits from such, especially as US troops withdraw from Iraq.
Hizbullah condemns these new crimes that serve the interest of the US troops and their agents who put utmost efforts to prevent the withdrawal of the troops from Iraq. Therefore, they sow death and destruction from cities in hope such violence would be a pretext to extend their stay to preserve security.
Hizbullah renews its condemnation to this crime, and sends warm condolences to the families of the martyrs. Hizbullah calls on the Iraqi people to fortify their country from penetration in order to prevent criminals from executing their bloody schemes.

"Every Land Is Karbala"
Brothers, Several years ago in Beirut I was told that the Middle East conflict must remain in the region. That was in 2002. I've learned much since then. Granted, I have much more to learn. But I see and I listen with an open heart. In 2004 I entered Islam while in Beirut. I felt the need to follow my heart. So I surrendered myself to God. In 2011 I know what is true. The "Middle East" conflict is NOT a regional war. What we face is a war against Islam. A war that is worldwide. A war directed against us. As a Muslim I am obligated to duty. As a Shia I realize that every day is Ashoura, and every land is Karbala. As I write this I am not ashamed to shed my tears for the victims of this crime in Karbala. For I see no borders in the war being waged against us. To me, a crime in Karbala is a crime in my backyard. I may be thousands of miles away, but my heart is with my Iraqi brothers and sisters.
