All Together With Harmony: Disgrace, How Remote!

With fists in the air, and black flags covering the streets, faithful people gathered to express their pious hearts and mind, in the memory of Imam Hussein (Peace be Upon Him).
With "Honor and Pride", the people chanted slogans illustrating their appreciation of Imam Hussein and his household's sacrifices, from which Lebanon and the resistance derived their loyalty.
The tenth day of Muharram, Ashura', has become a part and parcel of the people who have become aware of Imam Hussein's important stance which has been part of generation after another.
Year after year, the number of participants in the annual procession increases, and as the hearts of the crowd beat in the love of Imam Hussein, their words iterate this passion and will to be aware of disgrace, reaffirming in one harmonic voice: "Allahu Akbar (God is Great), Disgrace How Remote!"
People of all ages assembled, comparing the "nothing" they have done to the "everything" Imam Hussein and his household have presented to serve their marvelous relation with God the almighty.
Infants, youth, adults and elders challenged all powers that might keep them from vowing their support to the resistance, which serves the message of Islam and humanity.
For the fourth year in a row, al-Mahdi Scouts assembled its members, boys and girls, so they would take part in this glorious memory, which not only commemorates the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, but also stands as a chance to renew their pledge to stay on this path.
On this level, one of al-Mahdi Scouts girls squads' organizers at the Ashura' procession, Nisreen Khamis, indicated that al-Mahdi scouts embraces girls from ages 6 till 16, "most of whom have come today to announce their support to Imam Hussein and his path".
"Members of al-Mahdi scouts have come today to reiterate their stance to support Imam Mahdi (May Allah Hasten his appearance) when he appears and seeks revenge from those who have killed Imam Hussein and his household in Karbala", Nisreen Khamis indicated.
She also added in an interview with moqawama.org, "The girls now are still young, and as they grow older they will understand more the significance of this event, and they will teach future generations to refuse any kind of tyranny, injustice, and arrogance, and to hopefully become seekers of justice".
Highlighting the annual heavy participation of al-Mahdi Scouts in the Ashura' procession, the scouts' organizer confirmed that this is the fourth time that her organization officially takes part in the commemoration. "Each year, the number of participants increases, and this is due to the blessing of Imam Hussein, who has become a school from which generations benefit from", she went on to day.
On her part, 12-year-olf al-Mahdi Scouts member Rayan Hamade expressed her grief towards Imam Hussein's calamity. "Imam Hussein died for our sake, and we should condole with Sayyeda (Lady) Zeinab, who has been patient while witnessing all the woes of her household (Peace be Upon Them)."
Rayan said it was her first time she participates in the procession, as now she has finally started to understand the true meanings of Ashura', and she will God willing stay on this path.
As the procession started off and made its way around the Beirut Southern suburb after the elegy was recited in Sayyed al-Shuhada complex, people started to gather in the Raya Stadium, where the procession is scheduled to be closed with a speech by Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
Among the crowd already present at the outdoor stadium, Sheikh Hassan Hijazi shed the light in Ashura's, saying "it is a life that was sentences to go on throughout time and existence, as it will always impose its presence today and in the future, because it echoes our reality and conscience, and illustrates our problems and calamities".
"That is why Ashura' is the light which Allah almighty sought to protect, and despite the arrogant dishonesty which seeks to weaken the glow of this memory", Sheikh Hassan Hijazi noted in an interview with moqawama.org.
He further stressed that "Ashura' is the history in which we find Islam the resistance and Islam the objector of every devious rule that does not meet the teachings of Allah".
"Ashura' is the incident that made the resistance fighters and Muslims, and added to them more and more Islamic meanings, that is why express pride when we come to take part in such an important event commemoration", Sheikh Hijazi went on to say.
Referring to the increasing number of participants, Sheikh Hijazi also affirmed, "Each year, Ashura' and Karbala attract more followers, as we can find more generations that have walked in the path of this sacred memory. Imam Hussein lives with his thoughts and soul in all generations, and meets all eras, and from here we see that the number of people is increasing."
The main motto of this year's Muharram, especially the Ashura' commemoration was Pride and Honor, a motto that holds beneath it true affection towards the message delivered by Imam Hussein, and protected by his followers.
On this level, Head of Hizbullah Media Relations Ibrahim Moussawi indicated, "This motto expresses the deepness and essence of the faithful philosophy that Hizbullah abides by, and which each and every Muslim should follow."
"This philosophy, in its deepest indications, is derived from the deeper meaning of Karbala", Moussawi affirmed in an interview with moqawama.org.
He further clarified that "In his slogans in Ashura', Imam Hussein stressed that despite all calamities, and as the people defend their lives against tyranny, they become in the stance of "Pride and Honor"."
"From here we know the importance of holding on to the path of Ashura' and Karbala, because it is always the true way towards achieving self-based "Pride and Honor"", Moussawi added.
Moreover, released detainee, who spent years in "Israeli" prisons and kept hold on his faith, Hajj Mousfata Dirani also expressed to moqawama.org the deep signs felt within the story, or as he calls, "School of Ashura".
"Ashura' is an essential part of our lives and it is a firm Islamic, human, moral, and resisting pillar. It is a platform for the prophets throughout history. Imam Hussein represented one of these important hoops that sought to amend the course which was once displaced from the Islamic call", Dirani explained.
Dirani reaffirmed, "Imam Hussein should be examined in all aspects of life, and Jihad represents a door to one of the aspects which Imam Hussein sheds the light on in Karbala".
"Through Karbala, Imam Hussein taught us how to be oppressed and then strengthen our souls through our faith, and he has always been a school for all the liberals and Mujahedeen in the world, and all the vulnerable can benefit from its teachings", Hajj Moustafa Dirani reiterated.
"Ashura' and Karbala also represent the "revolution of opinion" and expressing it through the position which was translated through the pure blood sacrifices in Karbala", he finally added.
The tears and grief of the crowd was mixed with a glimpse of joy when the surprise of the day was revealed. Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah appeared live for the first time in years among the faithful crowd.
Sayyed Hassan, the great grandson of Imam Hussein, and who has dedicated his life for the welfare of his people, country, and homeland. As Imam Hussein once did, Sayyed Hassan, and the resistance embraced by him, are willing to stay on the path of "right", and to go through the great and worst to attain justice.
As the procession began, the people went back to their homes with the memory of Imam Hussein in their hearts, vowing: "Disgrace, How Remote!"

Disgrace, How Remote!
Let this procession be a lesson to all those who once demeaned the Resistance and Shiites all over the world that 'Disgrace, How Remote'! Indeed, Imam Hussein's lovers will increase, no doubt, since the greatness of his calamity is spreading its awareness worldwide, teaching Imam's followers that martyrdom is the most noble death, and death is by far preferred than disgrace. My Imam, we, your loyal followers, pledge every day that we never will deteriorate from your path, the path of 'Pride and Honour', and as Allah as my witness, we will fight to keep your commemoration alive to the last breath. Our slogan will always terrify our foes' hearts, as we chant proudly, "Disgrace, How Remote. Every day is Ashoura, Every land is Karbala".person JB
Sooo wonderful . . .
This article is sooo wonderful. I love reading such great and awesome stories…you really capture the procession which helps the reader-me-understand the deep importance and significance of such a great event. I like this article because you interviewed many different and important people who each gave their view and understanding of Ashuraa’. The pictures go perfectly with the article, especially the last picture!! I send roses to Sayyid Hasan Nasrallah… Events like this need to continue to take place year after year, because it serves as a catalyst in supporting the resistance and honoring Imam Hussein (a.s.). These events also reaffirm and nurture the resistance's roots which have sprung from Karbala'a. I’ve never attended a procession like this before and I hope to attend and even participate in one in the future, God Willing. The Lebanese and the moqawama are simply…amazing. Be proud of yourselves and all of your works!!!
