In one of his most recent speeches Hizbullah secretary general Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah warned of a campaign being waged against Islam. Sayyed Nasrallah was speaking on the backdrop of anti-Muslim acts which included the burning of the holy Quran in Afghanistan and the burning of mosques in certain European countries. This campaign, he asserted was being led by "Israel".

What proves that he is correct is the line which has been taken by Republican Party candidates who are striving to prove their pro -"Israeli" credentials in a bid to gain the support of "Israel" and its allies in the US in order to take back the White House. The line taken by these candidates is not only reminiscent but even surpasses the anti-Islamic rhetoric of the immediate aftermath of the September 11 attacks (recall George W. Bush's talk of a crusade war).
’’Israeli”- Led Islamophobia

Newt Gingrich, the former house speaker for example, spoke of "Islamic Shariah" as being the real problem. Another candidate, Rick Santorum, who is currently second in the Republican race spoke of defeating "radical Islam" and also used the term "evangelize and eradicate".(evangelize is associated here with the right wing evangelical Christian group known to be also very supportive of "Israel" and very hostile to Muslims.)

There is no doubt that such words would not be said if they didn't resonate with "Israel" and the gigantic AIPAC lobby in Washington.
Furthermore the language being used in the "Israeli" media in this regard is extremely striking, particularly after the attacks in the French city of Toulouse as these attacks seem to have turned into ammunition for the renewed "Islamophobia" campaign. Note here an article in the "Israeli" Yedioth Ahranoth which begins:

Western world is blind Op-ed: Despite Muslim murderousness, West refrains from admitting Islam is the problem.

Here are some other excerpts from this article:

"Almost everyone is staying away from pointing the finger at Islam as a whole, a religion that like an interminable production line gives rise to such phenomena, organizations and murderers".
"These terror attacks, in "Israel" and abroad, are aimed at killing as many people as possible, at times while executing children; the Islamic terror industry knows
no boundaries and cannot be satisfied".
’’Israeli”- Led Islamophobia Another article in the same "Israeli" outlet
recently released is entitled "The truth about Islam". It begins by stating that the "West continues to deny existence of ideological criminality, violence in Muslim world".
The author also writes the following to support his argument:
"Already 20 years ago, Dutch liberal politician Frits Bolkestein - who later became a European commissioner - courageously wrote that "judged by the standards of the universal declaration of human rights, the dominant civilization of Europe at present is superior to Islamic civilization."
So all this does indeed shows an "Israeli" led campaign against Islam AS A RELIGION AND CULTURE.

This escalated, "Israeli" led anti-Islamic campaign can be linked with three main factors:

First of all there are a growing number of westerners who have ceased to view "Israel" as the victim as was once the case and now see "Israel" as the aggressor. At the same time "Israel" itself is gradually being viewed as racist and even extremist.(recall here the price tag attacks on mosque's in Palestinian territories) Many are also comparing it to the apartheid regime which once existed in South Africa and are speaking of the shift of "Israeli" society to the right with the presence of groups like the Ultra-Orthodox). In the midst of this the only way for "Israel" to "legitimize" its behavior is to try and portray to the majority Christian west that it is "dealing with evil.

Second, "Israel" is being increasingly viewed as the main obstacle to peace in the region. (Even some western politician shave been forced to criticize "Israeli" policies like increased settlement activity). Here Islamophobia could come in as a handy political tool for
"Israeli" prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu who refuses to make any political concessions with the Palestinian side.

Third is that the "Israeli" government will use this card in the nuclear file of the "Islamic Republic of Iran". The argument will be that an "Islamic Republic" cannot have nuclear capabilities which other countries could have simply "because Islam is evil". (The "Israeli's" will also continue to spread lies about Iran being out to exterminate the Jews.)

However, while "Israel" might have succeeded in such an approach before, it is bound to fail now. The same reasons that have led to changes in world public opinion towards "Israel" will prevent people from buying such rhetoric.
These reasons include the evolution in communications and media, where the truth is now very difficult to keep from anyone. In addition as well to the presence of the younger, western educated and western based Muslim generation which has succeeded in conveying the truth to many misled westerners and is also becoming increasingly active and vocal in the political and academic arena's.
