Tomorrow, Sunday, marks two months to the detention of the prominent Bahraini activist Abdel Hadi Khawaja, the same day to the beginning of his hunger strike in protest to the oppression of the Bahraini regime.

The rights activist, the co-founder and former president of the Bahrain Center for Human Rights, was arrested in April last year for participating in anti-regime protests. Al-Khawaja is now serving a life sentence for his role in the ongoing revolution.
Al-Khawaja Triumphant whether free or martyr: Wife Al-Khawaja was first held in al-Qalaa prison hospital in the Interior Ministry. Two days ago, he was transferred to the military hospital upon deterioration of his health conditions. His sugar level seriously dropped, and he suffers hypotension .
His Wife, Khadija al-Moussawi, told moqawama.org that she has not been able to check on her husband's health since the transfer.

For the past two days, Khadija has been trying to contact or see her husband but to no avail. "Even Abdel Hadi's attorney was not allowed to check on him or see him, we tried really hard but it was fruitless," She said.
Al-Khawaja, the prisoner of conscience, detained solely for exercising his right to freedom of expression has been combatting oppression in the Gulf country.
Khadija asserted that her husband will continue the fight, fully supporting him she said "whether my husband is released from prison or martyred, he will be triumphant. To me, both, freedom or martyrdom are a victory, especially that he had launched the slogan "freedom or martyrdom" at the beginning of the peaceful protests.

The deterioration of the activist's health has caused a national and international outcry. Bahrainis have been protesting for his release for several days now and his case has gained great momentum.
"Protests are sweeping across Bahrain, since he was transferred to the military prison, which constitutes pressure on the government, and I hope that change would come soon, not after it's too late," she added.

Like Father Like Daughter

48 hours ago, Zeinab al-Khawaja, daughter of the Bahraini peaceful activist Abdel Hadi al-Khawaja who followed the footsteps of her father was arrested for the following crime: she stood before the general prosecution building and kept crying out loud "BABA", Arabic for dad. She still is in the governmental premises up-to-date, Khadija told moqawama.org.

"I do not fear for Zeinab, she is a strong person and has been calling for a righteous cause, I am sure that she will be triumphant too."

The mother and wife, who seems to be in full control of her nerves; assured her confidence in al-Khawajas and supports the cause until her last breath, calling on the Bahraini government to give up its violent crackdown on the peaceful protests that seek reforms and freedom.

Addressing the government, she further assured that jail and torture will not let people step back or wane.

"The only message I hold to my husband and daughter is: PATIENCE AND STEADFAST!" she concluded.
