Al-Assad Meets Levant Scholar’s Union Delegation

President Bashar al-Assad received a delegation of the Levant Scholars' Union which was formed on Wednesday during the Levant Scholars' conference for Supporting al-Quds (Jerusalem), reported SANA.

President al-Assad on Thursday, underlined the importance of the Conference to confront the "Israeli" dangerous judaization of al-Quds (Jerusalem) and the demolition al-Aqsa mosque.. as well as the contribution to facing such practices through escalating the popular campaign in all Arab and Islamic countries to support al-Quds (Jerusalem) and the Palestinian Cause.
Al-Assad Meets Levant Scholar’s Union Delegation Al-Assad stressed the need for forming the Levant Scholars' Union to serve as the light for all world and to spread instructions of true and tolerant Islam starting off from the Levant countries which embraced the heavenly religions and spread them all over the world.
He further underscored the importance of the Union to face challenges encountering the Arabs, Muslims and dealing with them seriously, particularly conveying the true image of Islam in light of the distorting campaign to which Muslims are exposed.
The Syrian President, tackling extremism said that there is nothing called extremism in Islam, adding "Islam is extremist in good and amity and in regards to organizing societies, promoting and developing them."
For his part, Chairman of the Levant Scholars' Union, Dr. Mohammad Said Ramadan al-Bouti expressed confidence that the Union will contribute to solving the problems in the society through the efforts of the scholars and through Islamic documented reference.

Members of the delegation appreciated Syria's hosting of the Conference and its permanent care for the Palestinian Cause , calling for intensifying efforts to support the Palestinian issue. They warned against bids of making peoples focus on internal problems and plant seeds of sedition to divert the attention from the crimes of "Israel" against al-Aqsa.

They also condemned the campaign against Syria which targets its stances and attempts of destabilizing its security through fabricating lies and creating instigations.

The members presented a copy of the Quran and a Damascene sword to President al-Assad.
