Barak: Sanctions Not to Pressure Nuclear Iran

"Israeli" War Minister Ehud Barak stressed that "the current sanctions against Iran are unlikely to pressure Tehran into abandoning its nuclear energy program."
During a diplomatic meeting, Barak stated that "the existing sanctions on Iran were harsher than ever but seemed unlikely to stop Tehran's nuclear work."
"The chances that under this level of pressure Iran will meet international demands to irreversibly stop its (nuclear energy) program seem slim," AFP quoted Barak as saying late Thursday.
The "Israeli" War Minister reiterated his entity's fears of a nuclear-armed Iran after his top general clashed with the government's line by describing the Islamic republic as "very rational and unlikely to build a bomb."
Barak also said "Iranian leaders were not rational in the Western sense of the word."
It is worth mentioning that Iran has repeatedly dismissed allegations over its nuclear activities. It also has signed the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and is a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
