The "Israeli" army began constructing a security barrier over a kilometer in length this week around the northernmost settlement of Motila, to allegedly protect the settlement from any Lebanese attacks in the future.
The wall, which will rise to a height of 5-7 meter (16-23 feet) is being built in coordination with the UNIFIL peacekeeping force in southern Lebanon, which has in turn notified the Lebanese army, as cited an army official
The "Israeli" army spokesman unit said in a statement on Monday that the barrier will serve to reduce tensions and improve security in the area.
The building of the wall is expected to last weeks, according to "Israel" Radio.
