Soltanieh: Iran will Never Suspend Uranium Enrichment

The Iranian ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency Ali Asghar Soltanieh announced Friday that his country will never suspend its uranium enrichment program.
In a reflection to Tehran's red lines in talks with world powers later this month, Soltanieh stressed that "he sees no reason to close the Fordow underground site."
"When you have a safe place, secure place under IAEA control, then why do you tell me that I should close it?" he said, making clear that "Iran built the site to better protect its nuclear work against any "Israeli" or US attacks."
He also assured that "Fordow is a safe place."
"We have spent a lot of money and time to have a safe place," Soltanieh added.
Hours earlier, Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that "Tehran attaches special significance to the upcoming talks with the six major world powers (P5+1) in Baghdad.
He further urged both sides to set new frameworks for the negotiations.
"Experts of the two sides should draw a plan to determine next steps in a transparent way and prepare the grounds for building confidence,"
Salehi said on Thursday.
