The lawyer representing two Palestinian prisoners entering the 70th day of a hunger strike said that both Bilal Diab and Thaer Halahleh are at risk of death.

In an interview with CNN, Jamil al-Khatib revealed that "the two hunger strikers' medical condition has gone from very bad to extremely worse."
He also accused the "Israeli" high court of procrastination in delivering a ruling that could save their lives.

"I believe what the court is doing here is trying to break the will of both prisoners so they will back down in their hunger strike," the lawyer emphasized.
Diab and Halahlah have been behind "Israeli" bars for nine months and 22 months, respectively, under administrative detention.

According to CNN, "the two men looked pale and weak, as they appeared in wheelchairs before the "Israeli" high court Thursday while their lawyers petitioned the judges that they be released."

The court was expected to rule on the matter Sunday, but no decision was forthcoming.
A spokeswoman for the "Israeli" Prison Service stated that "Diab is being held at an "Israeli" hospital while Halahlah is at a prison medical facility."

Amany Daify, a project coordinator for the so-called "Israeli" Physicians for Human Rights, said both prisoners "are in a life-threatening condition and continued to refuse to be given minerals or liquids."
"There is no documented history of any person who survived without food or supplements beyond 75 days," Daify said.

For its part, the Palestinian "Adameer" group revealed that "an examination by Member of Knesset Ahmad Tibi after Bilal's collapse on 3 May indicated that Bilal is experiencing hypothermia and losing sensation in his feet."
"Additionally troubling is the "Israeli" refusal to transfer Halahleh to a public hospital from the Ramleh Prison medical clinic, where he is currently held," it added.
Adameer also accused the "Israeli" judges of not only acting with severe negligence, but also with malicious intent.

Similarly, the group unveiled that "the Palestinian prisoner Hassan Safadi is now on his 63rd day of hunger strike and is currently held in the Ramleh Prison medical clinic."
Adameer lawyer succeeded in visiting Hassan Sunday. He noted that Hassan's health is deteriorating and that he is very weak and cannot stand, but vows to continue his hunger strike. He is refusing any treatment or examination by the prison doctors.

Hassan also recounted having refused water for several days until he was moved to Ramleh Prison medical clinic. Upon his arrival, he was beaten by prison guards, and the prison doctor refused to record the injuries sustained from the attack.
Since the beginning of his hunger strike, Hassan has had no visits from independent doctors.
