The head of the Syrian electoral commission Khalaf al-Ghazawi announced Tuesday that the voter turnout in the 7 May legislative elections was 51.26%.
"Of 10,118,519 Syrians eligible to vote, a little over half had cast ballots,"al-Ghazawi said.
He also added that 30 women had been elected to the 250-seat Parliament.
About 7,195 candidates, including independent and opposition figures, were running for the parliamentary seats.
In an earlier statement to SANA, al-Gazzawi added that the Committee received all the results of the constituencies after discussing and studying all the objections.
The parliamentary elections to be announced Tuesday were repeated at two electoral centers in Hasaka, two other centers in Damascus and in 14 centers in Damascus Countryside due to some violations of the rules of the elections general law.
Syrian's parliamentary election was the first multi-party election in five decades. It came as part of the reforms promised by the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
