Larijani: Global Powers Scheme to Eliminate Any Resistance against “Israel”

Iran's Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani has described the persisting unrest in Syria as part of an all-out scheme by global powers to eliminate any resistance against the Zionist regime.
Pointing to plots by "enemies of Islamic masses" to harm the "resistance axis in the region," Larijani emphasized during a Wednesday meeting with Secretary of Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) Ahmed Jibril that "there is an extensive scheme at work in the region by global powers aimed at damaging independent countries and dismantling any type of resistance against "Israel"."
He noted, however, that popular revolutions in the region have unfolded a "wide prospect in the struggle against "Israel"," forcing "Israel" into a severe isolation.
The top Iranian parliamentarian also emphasized an all-out and unconditional support of the Palestinian nation by people and the government of the Islamic Republic, noting that the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini turned Palestine into the most significant issue in the Muslim world and opened a new chapter in the resistance against the Israeli regime.
Jibril, for his part, described Iran as the only state that has stood beside the Palestinian nation during the most difficult times.

Jibril reiterated that standing beside the Syrian government and nation during the current circumstances "in effect amounts to countering this great Zionist plot in our region."
