Syria's Permanent Representative at the UN, Bashar al-Jaafari, stressed that his country is ready to do anything in its power, to help make the UN envoy's mission a success, affirming that the necessary facilitations were offered to envoy Kofi Annan's peace plan.
On the level of the recent heinous crime against Syrian civilians in the al-Qubair village in the Hama Province, al-Jaafari referred that the investigations found that the killing of innocent civilians occurred 5 hours before any clashes with the security forces.

"The Syrian TVs will air the true images of the massacre [...].The instigative media channels have taken to airing such fabrications before the UN Security Council meetings," al-Jaafari added.
According to local residents of al-Qubair, al-Jaafari affirmed that the gunmen who committed the crime were from another village, and therefore the locals called for the security forces' help, SANA reported.
"What is taking place in some parts of Syria is an unjustifiable heinous massacre, but some statements made during this session are part of the butchery, since the diagnosis of the situation is incorrect as it is based on political and media operation rooms that are detached from the situation on the ground," Syria's Permanent Representative at the UN further clarified.

Also, al-Jaafari indicated that his government extends a hand of reconciliation with all political powers whose hands are clear of the Syrian blood, in order to reach the shores of safety the country seeks.
Highlighting UN Envoy Annan's mission to Syria, al-Jaafari said that some powers have been casting doubts on Annan's plan, even before it was launched.
"I'd like to cite one example, Lutfallah 2 ship, which was carrying weapons from Libya to the armed groups in Syria via Lebanon. Also three days ago, a new salafi gathering named 'Syrian Rebels Front' was announced in Istanbul with the declared goal of unifying the armed factions in Syria, considering that what they called the 'battle for liberating Syria has started' [...]. It is clear that such a motto goes against Annan's plan," al-Jaafari asserted.

Furthermore, al-Jaafari criticized how UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon held the Syrian authorities responsibility of the recent terrorist massacres in al-Houla in Homos, and in al-Qubair in Hama, wondering how he would cast judgments before the observers investigated the crimes' scenes.
"We announce that Syria is ready to receive an investigation committee from neutral countries that respect the UN Charter and reject any intervention in the Syrian affairs," al-Jaafari asserted in this regard.

Moreover, the Syrian Envoy to the UN warned the armed rebel groups from abducting innocent civilians; among who are the Lebanese abductees whose fate hasn't been revealed until now.
He also revealed, according to the testimony of an international observer, that some armed factions are recruiting children, while others are exploiting Syrian civilians as shields.
