“Israeli” Extremists Torch Mosque in West Bank, Scrawl Graffiti

Suspected extremist "Israeli" settlers have set a West Bank mosque on fire and sprayed it with Hebrew-language graffiti early on Tuesday.
"In the middle of the night ... somebody entered the mosque, broke the window and threw a match causing a fire," a resident of the West Bank village of Jaba, told "Israeli" army radio.
The assailants wrote on the walls in Hebrew, "The war has begun" and "Pay the price," the resident said.
"At 1 o'clock we heard screaming from the people of the village and realized the mosque was on fire. More than 300 people awoke and we managed to put it out," said Abdul Karim Sharaf, the mayor of Jaba village, where the attack occurred.
"Israeli" police told AFP that they had yet to carry out a forensic investigation
but there were signs pointing to settler activists.
Though "Israeli" authorities made arrests in a few of the cases, there have been no prosecutions for the crime.
"Looking at the history of the Israeli government in holding to account settlers for these kinds of acts, it's minimal," B'Tselem spokesman Sarit Michaeli said.
"Price tag" is a euphemism for revenge hate crimes by "Israeli" extremists.
