Al-Jazeera: Surprisingly High Levels of Polonium-210 Found on Yasser Arafat
Decisions to exhume his body have been made after allegations that he was poisoned with the active element in 2004.
According to the report, Arafat's wife, Suha, provided the Swiss institute with the clothing of her husband to examine them. She requested that the remains of her late husband be exhumed in order to verify the claims.

Apparently, the Palestinian authority said it would agree to her request to dig up the body for autopsy from his limestone tomb in the West Bank city of Ramallah.
Spokesman to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Nabil Abu Rdeineh stated that "the Authority, as it always has been, is ready to completely cooperate with and clear the way for an investigation into the true causes leading to the martyrdom of the late president."

The vague death of Arafat in 2004 had raised suspicion that "Israel" was behind the death. Namely, the doctor's apparent lack of capacity to successfully identify the cause of his death in France, further facilitated for such suspicions. French officials, citing privacy laws, refused to give details of the nature of his illness.

Polonium is a substance that is ingested with food, causing critical illness, and subsequent slow death. In 2006, Polonium was found to be the cause of the death of Russian Alexander Litvinenko in London.
Yasser Arafat died after travelling to France to receive treatment for his illness at the age of 75. Typically, "Israeli" authorities denied the accusations and claimed all accountability was on the Palestinians.
