UK Report: “Israeli” Treatment of Palestinian Children Violates Int’l Law

A report conducted on June 2012 by British lawyers found that the Palestinian children in "Israeli" military custody were subjected to significant human rights, international laws violations.
Funded by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the report entitled "Children in Military Custody" was brought together by a group of British lawyer, an appeals court judge and a former attorney general.
The report indicated that the said group found evidence of a wide range of violations of international laws, including "denial of access to lawyers, separation of children from their parents, physical violence, solitary confinement, and coerced confessions."
Noting the unequal laws practiced on Palestinian and "Israeli" Children, the report read, "It is uncontested that there are major differentials between the law governing the treatment of Palestinian children and the law governing the treatment of "Israeli" children."
Also, the report reiterated that the "unequal of differential justice is not justice."
Moreover, the report indicated the "Israeli" occupation's breach of specific articles in both Geneva Conventions, and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Among the articles breached by "Israel" in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child: "articles 2: discrimination; 3: the child's best interests; 37 (b): premature resort to detention; 37 (c): non-separation from adults; 37 (d): prompt access to lawyers; and 40: use of shackles."
The UK-funded report further listed recommendations, including an appeal that "international law, international humanitarian law, and the UNCRC apply to the Occupied Territories and therefore should be fully and effectively implemented."
