Syrian Defense Minister, His Deputy, Martyrs of New Terrorist Attack
Syrian Defense Minister Dawoud Rajiha was martyred along with his deputy, General Assef Shawkat, in a terrorist attack targeting the National Security building in al-Rawda area in the capital Damascus.
The Syrian TV reported that the terrorist explosion took place when a number of high-ranking ministers and officials were convening in the official building. The explosion also caused many casualties among the civilians present in the area.
According to Syrian official sources, the terrorist attack led to the injury of Syrian Interior Minister, Mohammad Ibrahim al-Shaar, whose status is stable as he was hospitalized to one of the hospitals in Damascus. Also, Head of the National Security office, Lieutenant Hicham Bekhtyar, was also hospitalized after sustaining critical injuries as a result of the attack.
