Al-Quds Int. Day: United Against Despotism

People without Resistance are soulless, and a major part of such resistance belongs to the Palestinian plight.
"I ask all the Muslims of the world and the Muslim governments to join together to sever the hand of this usurper "Israel" and its supporters"; these are the very words of founder of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Imam Ruhollah Khomeini, when he announced the last Friday in the Holy Month of Ramadan as al-Quds day 33 years ago, to demonstrate world-wide solidarity with Palestine, and announce support for the legitimate rights of the Muslim people.
Commemorating the occasion, Baheth Center for Strategic and Palestinian Studies held its annual Iftar banquet under the title "al-Quds International Day" Assembly. Present at the ceremony were representatives from the different Palestinian factions and the Palestinian embassy, a delegation from the Iranian Embassy, Syrian Embassy as well as other political figures. Among the figures were MP Walid Sukariyeh, Former Minister Issam Noman, Hizbullah Politburo members Mahmoud Qomati and Ahmad Malli, as well as the Cultural Counselor of the Islamic Republic Sayyed Mohamed Hussein Raeis Zadeh and a number of political analysts and intellects.
Abdel-Aal: Resistance Fate of Palestinians
Following verses of the Holy Quran, brief words were delivered reiterating that the Palestinian cause concerns all Muslims world-wide. Politburo member of the Popular Front for Liberating Palestine, Marwan Abdel-Aal, iterating the necessity of resistance, he said that peoples without resistance are peoples without souls.
"The Palestinian people face a daily war with the "Israeli" enemy, whose judaization project is applied on each and every detail in Palestine, even on the most trivial details such as the names of the cities, the traffic signs...The Palestinians stand firm and resist such a project on hope to free themselves from this occupation," Abdel-Aal stated.
He underscored that people should be aware to the fact that ""Israel" is not only a colonial project targeting Palestine but rather the entire region, especially as it aims at realizing the US-"Israeli" hegemonic scheme of dividing the Middle East and manipulating it."
Al-Rifai: Palestine Central Cause
For his part, Abu Imad al-Rifai on behalf of the Palestinian Factions Coalition believed that more than 30 years ago, Imam Khomeini who enjoyed bright insight, was the first and foremost supporter to the Palestinian cause. "Through his scientific knowledge and bright far-of insight, Imam Khomeini considered Palestine a central cause for the entire nation." Praising the 1979 Islamic Revolution, al-Rifai stressed "The Islamic Iranian Revolution was the beginning of all revolutions on the path of triumphing dignity in the region."
He concluded that only resistance is the cure to the "cancerous cell" embedded in the Middle East, [by that meaning the Zionist entity] as this resistance had already succeeded in the 2000 liberation of Lebanon and the 2006 July war, also the 2008 Gaza War."
Mehanna: Entire Nation Target to Enemy
On behalf of the National and Islamic parties in Lebanon, Head of the Syrian National Social Party Tawfiq Mehanna praised the Islamic Revolution, owing to which the Shah regime was toppled, and the Palestinian flag was raised in place of the Zionist usurper flag.
On a related note, Mehanna assured that those conspiring against Syria, and call for disarming the Resistance in Lebanon, keep a siege on the Gaza Strip, and call for preventing Iran from its nuclear rights, in fact targets the elements of strength of the nation.
Shoushtari: A Day to Confront Despotism
The Islamic republic of Iran had Iranian Charge of Affaires, Mahdi Shoushtari deliver the word on its behalf.
"Al-Quds day is a chance for all the Oppressed to confront despotism and tyranny," Shoushtari said, noting that no matter how long it takes for the Palestinians to return to their homeland, they will eventually triumph.
"Imam Khomeini made the Palestinian cause his main concern, declaring it as a cause for all Muslims. Imam Khomeini called on all Muslims of the world to rise and help in liberating al-Quds from occupation," Shoushtari further elaborated.
He finally explained that the fierce attack launched against the Islamic Republic is because Iran has embraced the Palestinian cause and supports the resistance movements in face of the Zionist entity.
Qomati: We Strongly Adhere to the Palestinian Cause
Also, Hizbullah politburo member Mahmoud Qomati stressed that Palestine is the central cause for the entire Arab and Islamic Nation. "Why this international attack against Iran and Syria? Why the attempts to distort the image of the Resistance in Lebanon?" Qomati wondered. He then stressed that the reason behind such acts is because Iran, Syria, and the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon have adopted and defended the Palestinian
cause.
The Hizbullah Official demanded the Arab leaderships to draw new policies concerning Palestine, as it is the main cause in the regional conflict.
"We will adhere to the Resistance and its arms, we will also adhere to the Palestinian cause until liberating al-Quds and the entire occupied lands," he concluded.
At the end of the ceremony, Head of Baheth Center Walid Mohammad, iterated that events in the region and world today are evidence to the importance of Imam Khomeini's declaration of al-Quds Day, and confronting all attempts of sowing strife and destroying resistance in the region, stressing that all Muslims should unite in facing the hegemonic schemes against the region.
