Iran Holds 3rd International Conference of Islamic Resistance

The 3rd International Conference and Festival of Islamic Resistance kicked off in this central provincial capital city Wednesday morning.
A provincial official told IRNA that representatives from 50 world nations are present in the festival.
Representatives from Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Tunisia, Bahrain, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran are attending the two-day event.
Habibollah Tahvilpour said "the conference is aimed at reviewing ways to develop Islamic Resistance and prevent it from any divergence."
The first and second International Conference and Festival of Islamic Resistance
were held in Tehran and Mashhad respectively.
Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution His Eminence Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei announced that the conference would focus on the Palestinian cause.
He said the occupation of Palestine was one of the most serious challenges to the Islamic world, stressing that "it is the duty of all Muslims ... to help the Palestinians to liberate Palestine."
In an interview with Press TV, Velayati went on to say that "the conference also aims to explain the link between the Islamic Awakening and Islamic resistance."
On the Syrian crisis, the Iranian official stressed that "they [the West] wanted to mobilize all the financial resources of the Arab reactionaries and send arms and weapons to topple the Syrian government because of the defeat of the Zionist regime in North Africa and Middle East."
"But why are they doing this? Because Syria is the golden link of resistance," he added, addressing the third International Conference of Islamic Resistance, currently underway in Isfahan.
