The Syrian Foreign Ministry slammed Thursday the Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi's statements during the Arab League's foreign ministers meeting in Cairo.

In its statement, the minister considered Mursi's speech as a" flagrant interference in Syria's internal affairs."

"Mursi's statements are a flagrant interference in the Syrian affairs and an explicit attack against the Syrian people's right to choose their own future without any foreign interference," the ministry said in a statement confirmed.
It added "in his speech, Mursi clearly reflected the opinion of a group that has no connection to the realities of the common history between Syrians and Egyptians."

"Mursi's statements are part of media incitement that aims to flare up the circle of violence in Syria," the statement said and noted that "this doesn't differ from any other government that support the armed terrorist groups in Syria."
In parallel, the ministry highlighted that "history will not forgive these people for what they have done to the Syrian people."

"We are fully confident that the brotherly Egyptian people have the ability to restore Egypt's role in the Arab arena in a matter that restores the missing balance in the common Arab work," it concluded.
