Saudi security forces killed Monday a citizen in Awwamiya province as they prepare for the demolition of a mosque.

According to media reports, one person was killed and four others were injured by Saudi security forces in the eastern city of Awwamiya.
In details, the regime forces fired bullets heavily during their hunt for a person in the Deira district, which led to the immediate death of a worker and the burning of one car as well as to the damage of the surrounding houses.

This comes as the region witnessed intensive prevalence of regime forces, backed by armored vehicles in preparation for the demolition of a mosque in the city.
On the other hand, activists and the family members of political prisoners in Saudi Arabia have held a protest rally in the capital, Riyadh, to renew their calls for the release of the political detainees in the Arab kingdom.
In a gathering outside the Attorney General's office in the capital on Monday, they also demanded the release of political activists held in Saudi jails without trial.
"My brother told me he was taken to court last year but it was a secret trial and they didn't let him choose his own lawyer. It's been over a year and we still don't have the result of the trial. In my opinion, this trial is nothing but a show," said a protester.
The demonstrators, including women and children, chanted slogans condemning the arbitrary detention policy pursued by the system.
