Two Martyrs in Qatif, Crackdown Continues

Two men were shot dead and two others wounded on Wednesday when Saudi security forces opened fire on an activist in Awamiya village in the Qatif area.
According to agencies, one of the two martyrs is a sixteen-year-old boy was killed as security forces were trying to arrest opposition activist Khaled al-Labbad.
Labbad is on a list of 23 people wanted by the Saudi regime. They are accused of organizing anti-regime protests in the oil-rich kingdom.
Unconfirmed reports announced that Labbad was also killed in the incident.
"He and his companions opened fire on the security forces," Saudi Press Agency claimed and noted that "in dealing with the situation as it required, it resulted in the death of the wanted man ... and one of his companions, and the wounding of two others and the arrest of a third."
Meanwhile, activists said a third man was killed in a car and distributed photographs showing wounds in his neck.
Activists revealed that some of those killed were shot during peaceful protests.
An activist living in the area said security forces had cut street lighting in Awamiya and that there had been unrest in two other parts of Qatif.
It is worth mentioning that , there are over 30,000 political prisoners in Saudi Arabia.
People are randomly arrested by the Saudi police just for looking suspicious, and are held behind bars for years before they are even charged.
"The Saudi regime routinely represses expression critical of the government," Human Rights Watch said.
