Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi met Friday with his both Syrian and Lebanese counterparts.

According to media information, the meetings primarily tacked the Syrian crisis as well as the bilateral relations and consultations on regional and major international issues.
In the meeting of the Iranian top official with the Lebanese FM Adnan Mansour in New York, the Syrian issue was the most important topic.
They discussed the latest developments and the results of efforts to help resolve this crisis, in particular the recent visit of Salehi, to Cairo and Damascus.

In parallel, the conferees stressed the need to stop the violence and to prevent the smuggling of arms to armed groups . They further warned of the dangers of extremism and the need to launch a national dialogue between the government and the opposition.
This came as Mansour praised the Iranian balanced policy in addressing the regional topics, including the Syrian issue.

Meanwhile, Salehi and Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem confirmed "the need to find a Syrian solution through preventing smuggling of arms to extremist groups, banning any foreign intervention, and launching a national dialogue between the regime and the opposition."

They also noted to the "the influential role of the Islamic Republic that assist in settling the regional crises through balance and wisdom ."
