Thousands of people in Saudi Arabia have attended the funeral of three men who were martyred during the regime crackdown on an peaceful demonstration.
According to news agencies, the mourners gathered for the funeral ceremony in the town of Awamiyah in the oil-rich Eastern Province, al-Qatif, on Sunday and chanted slogans denouncing the regime for its brutal crackdown.
The protesters shouted "death to al-Saud" and other anti-regime slogans as they called for the trial of Mohammad bin Fahad, a senior state official in the region. Protesters also called for the freedom of all political prisoners.
The three martyr protesters, including a sixteen-year-old boy, died in Awamiyah on Wednesday when the regime forces opened fire on demonstrators.
The latest deaths bring to fifteen the number of protesters killed since anti-regime demonstrations broke out in the Eastern Province last year.
Cities and villages in the Eastern parts of the Saudi Arabia are witnessing a new round of anti-regime protests after the recent deaths.
