"Israeli" Strategic Affairs Minister Moshe Ya'alon said, Tuesday that "Iran's nuclear development program is advancing, despite the pressure being put on the Islamic Republic."
Yaalon: Sanctions Failed to Halt Nuclear Iran
"The sanctions and the pressure in place against Iran for around the past two years are effective, but the centrifuges continue to turn," Yaalon told "Israeli" public radio.
He further stated that "Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did a good thing when he presented red lines to the Tehran government during his speech at the United Nations.

"There is a sanctions clock, and the Iranian nuclear program is getting closer and closer to the red line," he added.
"We think it is necessary to impose harsh sanctions, economic, political or otherwise, again Iran, and we retain the military option," Yaalon said.
"But the fact is that diplomacy is not working and the sanctions have not had the desired effect because Iran is continuing its nuclear program."

Interviewed by the so-called Kol Yisrael government radio, Ya'alon claimed that "the fall of the Syrian regime would deal a real blow to Iranian interests, which is why it is investing a lot of money, know-how, technology and intelligence in the Damascus government."
