Hizbullah Slams ‘Eutelsat’ for Banning Iranian Channels

Local Editor
Hizbullah slammed Thursday the ‘Eutelsat' satellite provider for the decision to ban all Iranian TV channels from broadcasting via Hot Bird. Commenting on the offense, Hizbullah issued the following statement:
The Eutelsat ban of Iranian TVs is an attack on the freedom principles of which the West is proud, and a violation of all the rules that govern this international division of the media sector.
This decision does not relate to any excuse or viewpoint that could be accepted, and cannot be justified by the company managers.
It is remarkable that the European (French) company claims its decision is a result of EU pressures; at the time the EU has recently been awarded the Noble Peace Prize, but has undermined all rights to rule-based free speech.
Such arbitrary decisions will not subvert the truth, and will not prevent the targeted channels from finding a way to remain streaming and alive to sound the truth, despite all action taken against them by the West and their Arab allies.
Hence, Hizbullah condemns this European media crime, and denounces all attempts of banning freedom of speech. Hizbullah also expresses solidary with the targeted media outlets, and calls on the European company to withdraw its decision, which undermines what remains of the company's credibility.
