Washington Gives Syrian Opposition Two Months for Military Settle

Paris - Nidal Hmedeh
The Gulf and West intend the "Friends of Syria" group, to be held in Marrakesh, Morocco on Wednesday December 12, to become a media hullabaloo for the so-called Syrian coalition formed in Doha recently.
This came after all efforts to settle military and political issues in Syria failed from the Turkish borders North, to the center in Homs, all the way to the capital Damascus, despite Western and Gulf financial and military support.
Washington, who wants France and Qatar to point their weapons on Syria as had happened in Libya, seemed somewhat halfhearted to enter the Syrian battle. It had given the so-called Syrian coalition in the latest Doha Conference a period of two months to gain military triumph, or else hold another Geneva Convention.
Sources in the so-called Syrian opposition had stated, "The American delegation in the latest Doha Conference, in which the [so-called] Syrian coalition was formed, told the Syrian opposition that the US will not intervene militarily in Syria."
The source further mentioned that "the US granted the armed opposition a two-month period to prevail over the regime in order to give the US the necessary pressure points on Russia," explaining "that was what drove the [so-called] coalition chief Maath al-Khatib to declare the regime's downfall in three-week time."
This American threat is the direct culprit behind the grinding broad battles around Damascus since the latest Doha Conference and before the Marrakesh Conference. Here, Syrian opposition sources in Paris clarified the goals of the current Damascus battle and the difficulties of a military settlement that the so-called opposition foresaw.
Damascus Battle Goals:
1- A US military triumph that allows the so-called opposition to avoid negotiations with the regime, as stipulated by the Geneva Convention.
2- A strong boost for the "Friends of Syria" Group in Morocco.
3- Media and psychological pressure that the International Damascus Airport provides when the regime is besieged in Damascus and therefore downfalls.
Regarding the difficulties for the military settle that the so-called opposition declared, the sources deliberated it through the following points:
1- The Kurds entering the frontline with the armed opposition groups in northern Syria after the Army's deliberate retreat there.
2- Military settle failure in Aleppo which the so-called opposition promised its international sponsors four months ago.
3- Western fear of events expanding to Lebanon.
4- The troubled Egyptian situation.
In this context, Turkey was the one to blame after the consecutive defeats of the armed groups in the Turkish-Syrian border of Ras al-Ain village. The Turkish seemed to have consumed all military force in the armed groups in Ras al-Ain when it forced three prominent platoons in the armed groups in Northern Syria to battle side by side, namely The Nusra Front, Ghoraba al-Sham (Strangers of Levant), and Liwa al-Tawhid (Unification Platoon). This drives Washington to isolate The Nusra Front from the others as a prerequisite for American ammunition support.
