Russian President Vladimir Putin, prior to the G8 summit to be held on Monday and Tuesday in North Ireland, refused to stop providing arms to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, censuring the British Prime Minister David Cameron and US President Barack Obama for aiding the insurgents in Syria.

In a joint press conference with British Prime Minister David Cameron held on Sunday, Putin said that resolving the crisis in Syria can only be done through diplomatic and political methods and by having all sides sit at the dialogue table, calling for all sides to exert joint efforts to achieve this goal.

Moreover, Putin addressed Cameron on the issue of supplying weapons, reiterating, "I believe that there are people in the Syrian opposition that not only murder people, but also eat their internal organs... do you want to support those people, and what does this policy have to do with human values?"

Cameron had admitted that he and Putin "don't see eye-to-eye on everything" and had a "serious and honest discussion" over Syria.

Also, a spokesman for Putin later said that the two leaders have "lots of very serious differences" over the situation in Syria.

Putin attacked Cameron's continued support for the rebels after he was asked whether he has "the blood of Syrian children on his hands".

Putin had warned that the "blood is on the hands of both parties" and said deeds carried out by the militiamen in Syria went against the "cultural values of Europe".

Putin added, "If we speak calmly in cold blood in a businesslike fashion, let me draw your attention to the fact that Russia supplies arms to the legitimate government of Syria in full compliance with the norms of international law."

The 39th Summit of the Group Of Eight (G8) will be held in Lough Erne, County Fermanagh, on Monday and Tuesday.

Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the US and the UK will be represented.
