G20 Meeting Convenes in Russia’s St. Petersburg, Syria Dominates Meeting

The G20 economics meeting which brings world leaders from the developed and the developing nations together started on Thursday amid ongoing Syrian crisis. The G20 is to be held between 5-6 September in Russia's St. Petersburg.
The possible Syrian military intervention is set to dominate the G20 agenda while the summit primarily is supposed to cover the global economy.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is expected to hold bilateral meetings with President Vladimir Putin and US President Barack Obama; the schedule is still not clear. The military action against Syria's government seems to be the top topic during the meetings.
Turkish PM Erdoğan will first meet his Singapore counterpart at the city center and then come together with French President François Hollande. Erdoğan is also due to have bilateral talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
Russia is trying to take a stand with China against a military strike in Syria in the frame of the BRICS economies.
President Barack Obama, Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Francois Hollande, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Saudi Prince Saun Al Faisal al Saud, are among others taking part in the meeting.
