After six months of military operations on the front lines of Moadamyieh, the armed groups agreed on the conditions the Syrian army had set for reaching a truce.

Moadamyieh’s Truce Restores Gov’t’s Authority, Militants Deliver WeaponsIn details, the negotiation process was initiated at the request of the armed groups' leadership through a negotiation channel of the region's elders and official figures.

Based on the truce, civilians were evacuated from the area. The operation took place in two phases, under the supervision of the Syrian government.

The battle lasted nearly two months after the eviction process with the advancement of the Syrian army and its siege to the armed groups in the region.

After the issuance of the presidential amnesty on military personnel who have left their units and did not join the military service, the armed groups' leaders re-opened a channel of negotiation to benefit from the presidential pardon.
The terms of the agreement conditioned that a cease-fire would be only reached if the armed groups deliver their medium and heavy weapons.

In addition the army asked that the list of militants' names is to be delivered to the concerned authorities to regularize their status.
Moving to the other phase, the armed groups delivered their light weapons so that the Syrian army enters to the region.

Meanwhile, the flag of the Syrian Arab Republic was raised on the municipal building in central Moadamyieh as well as other buildings in the region.
With the entry of the Syrian army, flour and other types of food were handed to the people of the region as rehabilitation workshops started their work.

Moreover, popular committees were established to protect the area and prevent the infiltration of any armed groups from neighboring areas.

It is worth mentioning that many of the agreements was held under the title of national reconciliation and remains in effect until now. The most prominent of those truces is the Qadesyieh agreement.
