In parallel to his interest and skill in military leadership, Haj Imad had interest in a world that is as far as can be from politics and confrontation of the enemy. Those who know him well witness that he loved arts since childhood.
Haj Imad in fact is still a mystery that bewilders minds; his personality, his ambiguous identity that was not made public until his martyrdom which made him seem like an interesting source of secrets, sweet and hurtful.

Those who lived with Haj Imad, said he used to follow up on the political satire Lebanese talk shows and plays that tackled the Lebanese arena in particular, also he had met with the Lebanese artist Ziyad al-Rahbani and liked his satirical art.
Rahbani is a prominent Lebanese composer, pianist, performer, playwright, and political commentator.

Haj Imad was also known for his love to patriotic and revolutionary songs performed by the Lebanese artist Marcel Khalifeh. He would love listening to those songs related to the land and the nation.

"Decent" music occupied much of Haj Imad's attention; he also took part in a choir band and participated in several Islamic songs such as "Glory to September, the Month of Martyrs".

Haj Imad was also attached to Iranian music; during his trips to Syria in particular he would listen to such music and songs. Those who know him well said that a weird coincidence took place on his last trip to Damascus before he was martyred.
Haj Imad that night, before he reached his destiny was listening to a well-known song by an Iranian musician, composer, violinist Homayoun Khorram, which was sung later by others among them the well-known singer Mohammad Esfahani.
The song holds the title "Imshab Dar Sar Shouri Daram" meaning "I have rapture in my head tonight".




Paying attention to the lyrics of the song, it describes his state right before martyrdom, as if it were a song of farewell. One of its verses says "I want to be alone tonight; I want to be in dreams".

People who lived with him said he was concerned about the smallest details when it came to the production of Resistance video-clips. He even recommended altering parts or details in some video-clips such as
"Nasrak Hazel Dini", Arabic for "Your Victory has rocked the world". In that particular video-clip, Haj mad asked the director to replace the Hizbullah flag with that of Lebanon.

One Resistance fighter, who was among those living around him recollected that Haj Imad, also for that particular video-clip, asked a group of young fighters to paint a major number of Katyusha rocket launchers that were used in the video-clip; saying that an image reflects the character of a people or group. Assuring Haj Imad followed up on the smallest details, the narrator said Haj Imad gave them 24 hours to get the job done before reshooting the video.

Also earlier, Haj Imad had recommended some old Palestinian songs to be put in video-clip form and broadcast via al-Manar TV.

The Resistance mysterious leader attended several plays one of which held the title "The Heir" directed by Hidaya Sinan. Haj Imad made sure he congratulated the director on the work and gave remarks on what he had seen.
