Kandil links USS Cole to Moghnieh assassination and Iraqi mujahideen

Former MP Nasser Kandil said that the arrival of the "military barge" Cole was the first step in a chain of installing a number of "warpieces" along the Lebanese coast.
He noted that this provides further evidence that America was behind the assassination of Imad Moghnieh. Moghnieh, a top Hezbollah security official, was killed in a car bomb earlier this month in Damascus.
Hezbollah has accused Israel of the assassination. While it welcomed the news, Israel has not claimed responsibility.
Kandil called the USS Cole the first "gunshot" in a war being planned by those who were behind the July War. He said that "America, the west, and their Arab allies" were behind that war and said that it was executed by Israel with the knowledge of some Lebanese parties.
He added that the "reserve" sent by the American administration would provide logistical support and artillery for targeting resistance fighters and linked the move to America's presence in Iraq.
"The Bandar Bin Sultan project made Lebanon an alternative base for Al-Qaeda, which means that the arrival of American artillery implies the attraction of Arab mujahideen from Iraq for the relief of American soldiers there."
Regarding the Arab Summit, to be held next month in Damascus, Kandil said he hopes the leaders of Saudi Arabia and Egypt, among others, will stick to their decision not to attend. "The absence of the American group means more will be achieved," he said.
