A Saudi young man named Abdullah al-Ramadan was martyred after police shot him while he was attending a car-drifting event in al-Rams Cornice in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province in the town of Nasir.

Activists on social networking sites explained that police had randomly fired shots on Wednesday evening as they entered into a car-drifting event where young men were engaged.

The indiscriminate firing by the security forces caused the immediate martyrdom of Abdullah al-Ramadan [21 years].

In an opposing notion, Saudi police media spokesman in the area Abdul-Aziz Jazaa al-Harbi declared that the authorities had initiated criminal investigation procedures on the shooting incident which led to the martyrdom of the young man while he was attending a car-drifting event in al-Rams Cornice in Nasir.

Hence, the martyrdom of the Saudi citizen in the eastern region caused a widespread of reactions on social networking sites.

Participants posed a question, "Are we safe and secure?"

Accordingly, they also considered that what happened was a desire by the security services to keep the situation in Qatif deadlocked by means of resorting to excessive violence and even death in some cases.
