3 Brits Arrested on Terror Charges

Two men, aged 21 and 27, and a 21-year-old woman were detained at their homes at around 6am on Tuesday.

Police said the suspects were detained at their home addresses and are now being held at a nearby police station in the West Midlands.

West Midlands counter-terrorism unit described it as a "pre-planned and intelligence-led" operation.

A police spokesman said: "There was no immediate threat to public safety."

Further, searches are being carried out at eight addresses in the Walsall area and one in Moseley, Birmingham.

Under terrorism legislation, officers have an initial 48 hours to question them before charging, releasing or applying for a warrant of further detention.

One location being searched is a terraced house in Bentley Lane, Walsall.

However, neighbors were tight-lipped about who lived there.

Earlier, several uniformed and plain clothes officers went inside the home, some wearing latex gloves.
