Following verses of the Holy Quran and the national anthem, head of the Sepantial studies center organizing the event delivered the inauguration speech in which he highlighted the importance of the role of Islam in confronting such phenomenon that impacts all spheres of life.

The conference focuses on the vital role of cultural development in the area to confront all forms of despotism and tyranny practiced against the peoples of the region.

Sheikh Shafiq Jaradeh, head of the center stressed that the resistance and its philosophy based on correct and authentic Islamic teachings is what makes the people of the region strong, noting that this resistance is not only concerned with hard power, but also soft war that has been ramping across the region.

Addressing the current situation in the region, Sheikh Jaradeh said that if unorthodox Islamic ideology has blocked the way before any dialogue in the region, there have been constructive efforts to bring about change and meet with different sides as that understand the meaning of dignity and stand side by side against the apartheid Zionist regime to exchange ideas and resolve conflicts.

During the conference, held under the auspices of Hizbullah Secretary General his Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and in participation of different studies and centers as well as intellects from the different think tanks, Sheikh Shafik stressed the importance of unity among Muslims in confronting any attempts of sowing sectarian strife.

Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem also delivered a speech in which he underscored that we should clear Islam from the takfiri phenomena, which is a political tool exploited by major powers under a so-called Islamic umbrella and with Saudi support.

"It is the duty of all Muslims to defend Islam and take part in fighting the takfiri movements that have distorted the image of Islam, it is the duty of all men of religion and scholars to fight such extremism," he noted.

The Hizbullah official also said it can be useful to benefit from the Iranian case, which has provided a good example to confronting such threats within a true Islamic framework.
