Hizbullah Condemns Attack on Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (AS)

18-03-2008
Hizbullah issued the following statement in which it commented on the bloody attack on the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS):
The [attack] targeting the pilgrims to the holy shrine is a hideous crime, a profound transgression in the rights of Muslim sacrileges, a shedding of the innocent blood of persons whose only crime was the love of Imam Hussein (AS) and his followers. What happened is part of the price that the Iraqi people pay under the occupation which holds complete responsibility for these crimes.
Hizbullah calls on all sides of the Iraqi people to unite and calls on the Muslim states and religious institutions and leaders to condemn such criminal acts. Hizbullah underlines their role in confronting such suspicious phenomena and in halting the 'accusation of atheism' campaigns of which none but the enemy profit.
