Saudi rights activist Mohammad al-Nimr asserted he was called to investigation for defending the case of his brother Ayatollah Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr and some other political prisoners in the Kingdom.
He made clear he was called to appear before the al-Awamiya Police Office for this reason, without mentioning further details.
As for performing the execution, he said there is serious concern about executing Sheikh al-Nimr among other prisoners. He stressed that only King Salman's intervention would cancel the sentence.
He also warned from the wide negative consequences that would take place in case the executions were performed.
The Saudi activist noted that he will keep up his peaceful political activity.
In the same context, political rights activists and observers warn that executing Sheikh al-Nimr, who has been imprisoned since 2012, will increase the already escalating political tension in the areas populated with Shia majority, and rich in oil resources.
