Russian Forces to Receive New Weapons in 2015

Russian press spokesman Colonel Igor Egorov reported that Russia's Strategic Missile Forces will receive more than 50 modern pieces of weaponry in 2015.
"More than 50 modern pieces of weaponry, military and special equipment, including intercontinental ballistic missiles, autonomous launch platforms, mobile command centers of missile units and division, battle control support vehicles, engineer and camouflage support vehicles will be received in 2015 in the final stages of rearming the Russian Strategic Missile Forces," Colonel Egorov said.
In addition, he noted that 2016 would see an increase in the number of snap combat readiness exercises.
Earlier on Monday, Egorov stated that Russia's Strategic Missile Forces will hold more than 30 tactical military exercises during the summer.
The strategic missile troops will carry out monitoring tasks in field positions for up to 32 days.
In March and April, Strategic Missile Forces carried out counter-terrorist exercises in Russia's southeast.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Russia will hold at least 4,000 military drills throughout 2015.
