"ISIS" claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing of a checkpoint in a key Libyan oil region that killed six people including a baby.
The terrorist organization's Libya branch released a statement saying that Thursday's attack in Ras Lanouf, east of the "ISIS"-held coastal town of Sirte, was carried out by a foreign militants using an explosives-packed car.
"ISIS" has been growing in power in Libya, feeding on the chaos that has gripped the country since the 2011 revolution that toppled longtime dictator Muammar Gadhafi.
Moving to Egypt, the group's branch in the country said on Thursday it had bombed a pipeline that carries gas to Jordan and to a major industrial zone in north Sinai.
For their part, security sources confirmed that attackers set off explosive devices under the pipeline close to al-Midan village in the north of the peninsula. They said the blasts did not cause any casualties.
Meanwhile, North Sinai is considered a bastion of the "Sinai Province" group, the Egyptian affiliate of "ISIS."
In a message posted on Twitter and signed by "Sinai Province," the terrorists claimed responsibility for the attack.
Jordan is among a number of Arab states that have joined the US-led campaign of air strikes against "ISIS", which captured swathes of Syria and Iraq, where it has declared a caliphate.
