Hizbullah: We support any effort to resolve the crisis and reject any biased interference based on political motives

24-04-2008
Commenting on the decisions of the meeting held in Kuwait on Lebanon, Hizbullah Media Relations issued the following statement:
"Hizbullah has always affirmed its support and welcome to any efforts, spent by Arabs or friends, that would help Lebanese parties overcome obstacles and reach a solution to internal crisis within the framework of preserving the sovereignty, unity and the Lebanese formula. We also continue to support such endeavours, especially the Arab initiative along with its integrated vision of a solution. However, we stress our rejection to any interference in Lebanese affairs by any country that does not take into account the will of the Lebanese society with its spectrums especially if this intervention is biased towards special interests, that comes against a backdrop of hidden political intentions."
The statement concluded: "We remind some of these that they ought to maintain equal distance to all parties in Lebanon, to respect the will of the Lebanese, and assist them with their wants; otherwise they will have lost their role as an acceptable, effective and impartial mediator. Consequently, they will become a party and part of the problem rather than the solution, a role that has enormous risks."
