Hizbullah strongly condemned the "savage crimes committed by the US occupation in Iraq against Iraqi civilians, particularly in Sadr City, where in one month nearly a thousand martyrs have fallen and more than 2600 civilians were wounded."
Hizbullah said this was a flagrant violation of all international charters, in particular the Geneva Convention, which the party said prevented "any occupation forces from harming civilians in the areas they occupy."
Hizbullah issued a statement saying there was no solution in Iraq other than the exit of the occupation from Iraqi land, calling on foreign troops to hand the management of Iraqi affairs over "to its honorable sons, who can carry their country without guardianship."
"We call on all Iraqis to unite and reject division in order to maintain the unity of their country, liberate it from the occupier and reconstruct it in line with their own expectations," Hizbullah added.
