Russian President Vladimir Putin said his country had to face down threats posed by strategic missile defense, the global strike concept as well as information warfare.
Russia's task is to neutralize any risks to national security, including information warfare, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday.
"Our task is to effectively neutralize any military threats to Russia's security. Including those connected with creation of strategic missile defense, implementation of the global strike concept, the waging of information wars," Putin said during a traditional series of meetings with top defense industry officials.
Russia fulfils all of its international obligations when designing and creating advanced weapons systems, Putin said.
"Such developments are being carried out in Russia as well as other countries. We fulfil consistently and rigorously the international obligations which Russia undertook at one time when designing and creating advanced weapons systems," he said.
Putin further pointed out that some countries did not meet their obligations, for example, in the sector of missile defense in order to gain unilateral advantage.
"In this relation, I shall note that we shall continue doing everything in our power to ensure the strategic balance of forces. We consider the attempts to change it or break it extremely dangerous," the president noted.
